




















John Burns is the editor in chief of Kinfolk and the author of a series of companion books published by Artisan, an imprint of Hachette.
He writes and edits independently, and his work has appeared in The Guardian and Harvard Design Magazine, among other places. He also creates commercial content for the Financial Times and HTSI and consults internationally on publishing projects for private clients.
John started his career at Monocle in London, before joining Time Out in Beirut and later Brownbook magazine in Dubai. He is originally from County Durham, studied in Leeds and Montreal, and now lives in Copenhagen.
Kinfolk reaches over two million followers in 100 countries, and Vanity Fair has credited the magazine as having “defined the millennial aesthetic.” John’s books for the brand have sold a quarter of a million copies.
Before his publishing career, John spent almost a decade working in village libraries around the north-east of England.
